Nicolas Pellemans

Nicolas Pellemans, Eng. holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal. He is a registered patent agent in both Canada and the United States. Mr. Pellemans began his intellectual property career in 1991 with the firm Robic of Montreal. He later worked with BCF, McCarthy Tétrault and Ogilvy Renault.

In addition to preparing patent and industrial design applications, Nicolas Pellemans ensures they progress smoothly through the various examination stages. He also helps clients establish strategies to protect their innovations or creations, and conducts patentability, infringement, freedom-to-operate and validity opinions. As well, he assists international clients obtain patent and industrial design protection in Canada. Further to this, his work includes due diligence opinions of patent portfolios in connection with mergers, acquisitions and financing.

With several hundred cases to his credit since starting his career, Nicolas Pellemans has acquired a vast expertise in a very wide range of technical fields and technologies.
